8 Funny Things Only True-Blue Pet Owners Will Understand

For many people, fur on the couch and paw prints on the floor are enough to drive them mad. But not you, fantastic pet parent! Whether you have dogs or cats, you embrace the responsibilities of owning a furry creature -- which often results to exasperating but utterly funny situations. So if you're a pet owner, we just know you can relate to these adorable struggles.

1. "Not the chocolate!"

Pets are a lot like toddlers -- they always eat what they're not supposed to! How many times have you had to use super-strength to force your animal to spit out that bit of chocolate they found on the floor?

2. They're sweet around you... then they want to kill you.

You must give exactly three belly rubs only on specific body parts of your furball, or prepare to meet The Claws.

3. Sorry, guests. My pets are more important.

Your dog is a good boy and nobody gets to shoo him out of the room. Nobody. It's your visitor's fault for having fur allergies.

4. Your partner also has to love your pet.

It's not just house guests who have to embrace your animals -- your spouse has to do it even more. They must accept that your furry baby holds prime real estate in your heart -- and on the bed.

5. Goodbye, quiet nights.

You're officially done with asking why Bella is barking at 2 a.m., or why Tiger keeps running around the house once everyone is tucked in. Sleep is for the weak, and you, pet owner, are strong like your pets.

6. You are now an animal's doorman.

Your pet wants you to open the door so they can go out. Once they're out, they're tippy-tapping at the door for you to let them in. Your job is not to question them; your job is to bow to their wishes.

7. You and your pets have the same preference in humans.

Ever notice how your pet doesn't seem to like people you don't like? Except the mailman, 'cause you have no idea why your dog enjoys growling at him.

8. So in conclusion, yes, you need as many furballs as possible.

One -- or three -- pets just isn't enough! Having more pups or kitties may mean more mess to clean up and more masters to serve, but you love them anyway. And they give back endless love for you, too. Most of the time.
